My favorite of his roles has to be Tom Hanks's brother in Splash, especially when he yelled at his brother "I'll never be that happy!"

His work on SCTV makes him one of the all time greats. I was in high school during that time and a buddy and I would do our impressions of Johns characters on SCTV. Comic genius. Loved him in Stripes as well.

I went to a Chicago area film production show yesterday, and learned that Second City now has the Harold Ramis Film School, founded by his widow.

Mine too, I’ll never forget Dell Griffith. There was just so much depth to that character, he deserved a award nomination for that role. I didn’t see the ending coming.

I knew him from SCTV and a bunch of silly stuff before I saw this, but this was the first time I thought, "wow, he can really act!"

Tons of great movies featuring his acting since then, my favorites include Uncle Buck, Planes Trains and Automobiles, and Only the Lonely. Him and Maureen O'Hara in that one was a highlight for both of their careers.
