This is a first-rate version of the Mahler 10, and I'd say the same for Wigglesworth's later recording (also live) with the Melbourne Symphony for ABC Classics. Over the years more conductors have taken up Mahler/Cooke and IMO it's earned a place in the Mahler canon. These BBC Music CDs are widely available wherever used CDs are sold, and this one's a strong recommendation from me.

This morning. An old Telefunken HiFi( i.e. mono) recording , issued as TC 8019. I don’t know the specific year but I will look up as time allows. Nice clean blue/silver Telefunken label LP with wax paper inner record liner. [IMG]

Now playing a 1958 recording done 2 days after Kogan’s debut at Boston’s Symphony Hall. My copy is a reissue on RCA Victrola.[IMG]

It is, no doubt about it. If only my Naim Nait XS2 amp hadn't broken down after 5 years, so no music for me at the moment - OK, I still have my computer, but that doesn't make up for it. Naim does not seem to be as solid as I thought.

Sounds like Naim no longer makes its products the way it used to but @Wugged has owned his Naim units for well over a decade IIRC ...

Hopefully you can get it repaired quickly. Naim have long been known for excellent customer service. The company has changed ownership (in 2011), but the new owner is the French speaker company Focal, which has also been known for excellent customer service.

My Naim amps (pre/power supply/power amp) are 27 years old. They were last serviced about 3 years ago and sound fabulous.

As layman states, Naim's product repair service is remarkable.

Sad to hear and disappointing. I'm surprised, but things happen.
Your dealer will easily be able to sort this out for you. Your amp is still a baby........

I am still sniffing and checking around for an integrated amp for my 12 x 12 study/computer room though Naim does not seem to offer what I want ...

Cliché: it happened a few weeks after the 5-year warranty had expired... I had contacted my dealer for a checkup of my Naim gear in November last year, a couple of months before the warranty expired, but he didn't think it necessary, and now he refuses to repair the amp under warranty... I contaced the importer this weekend, I wonder what they think.

If that does not work also consider contacting the manufacturer. I have dealt directly with manufacturers in the past and it has usually been a good experience.

Ya gotta love Qobuz's search engine. When searching for that recording, which they did have, they also suggested this:

Yeah, I'll be sure to add that to a playlist...

I think Naim would be interested in the dealers behaviour. Poor show.
