Quite a few artists include short tracks (by that, I mean no more than around two minutes in length) or interludes that I wish were longer. Here are three of mine, all from the soul/funk genre. Do you have any - all genres welcome?

Paul McCartney - The Lovely Linda.

I know some people will disagree but I always wanted to hear a more completed version.

Wings - Venus and Mars / Rock Show.

The Venus and Mars section (which is the best part) is only 1 minute 6 seconds of the song. Should have been a full song in its own right

"Message To Miniature" from the Markley album, A Group. West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band fans will understand.

What a great choice! And yet, perhaps its poignancy is somewhat derived from that concise bit of writing?

I’ll go with both side closers on After the Gold Rush.

That means Paul would’ve had to apply himself!

I wish he’d have fleshed out Backwards Traveller from London Town.

I wish that bit at the end of Standing Here by The Stone Roses went on a bit longer too...

You can pair it with The Venus and Mars on the 2nd side and it’s a pretty complete tune.

I wish Crucifire from the latest Desert Sessions was longer. Favorite rock song of the year.
