I've been searching for over a month now for a copy of a boxed set by Brazilian musician Nara Leão. For me, the price isn't even the issue - I simply cannot find a copy for sale. This led me to thinking about the rest of you - have you ever had a very difficult (or impossible) time locating a particular boxed set? Are you still in the hunt?

This is the one I've been looking for....

I've also read that some of the Bear Family boxed sets are very difficult to find

Sandy Denny`s 19CD-Box „Complete Studio Recordings“ is rare and very expensive even though it came out just 10 years ago...

While it doesn't have the demand of the those above, Jamison Williams' 9 cd set "Documentation Iconique de L'Hysterie" was an edition of 11.

I snagged a copy on release

Not sure, but maybe Steven Wilson's new "ULTRA DELUXE MUSIC PRODUCT ON OBSOLETE MEDIA" box?

Hard to say the most rare.

The Elvis Presley Complete Masters box only had 2000 pressed I believe. 1000 numbered, 1000 not numbered and labeled second edition.
2 available on discogs, both second edition, one for $1300, and one for $2700 ...

I used to own a copy of that set. I’m really surprised it’s that valuable. You can buy a used car for $2700

Several of their products are hard to get a hold of and are expensive.

Blues guitarist Freddie King's first Bear Family box set has all but vanished from the market. I've been looking for it for several years and have only seen one copy listed in that time.

Freddie King - Taking Care Of Business

Discogs says other copies have sold, but those must have been in the earlier part of the decade.

Classic Records Led Zeppelin Roadcase is surely a contender?

    Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin

In 2006 this retailed at $700. Which already wasn't a bargain.

Happens with lots of Brazillian musicians' body of work, the companies usually issue boxed sets in 'Phases' and it usually leads to the least interesting ones being widely available and others barely even showing up for sale anywhere. Off the top of my head i remember Caetano Veloso's series of boxed sets, one per decade, being hit and miss regarding availability (and price as well...)

I just want the book. Does anyone have it?

I don't even have the set.... with all the Elvis albums I have, the price of the set isn't justifiable for me, even if I had the money

No, of course not. Especially since the Elvis Albums Collections came out some years back.

I just would like to have the book, even as scans. I have seen some pages that seemed very interesting. I would acquire it if it was available at a normal price.
