I went ahead and took this deal even though still at this price it is pretty high priced. It came today in just a mailing label stuck to the shrinkwrap covering most of the hype sticker. The shrinkwrap was a bit torn but surprisingly no damage except to the hype sticker (usually I do save them in the box on such things. I'll keep it but you would think an expensive item would get better treatment.
My Cabaret Voltaire showed up today in the White Baggie of Doom... but then a sealed cardboard mailer inside. What is the point of that?! The WBOD even calls out how it is so much better than their normal packaging... but then they use the normal packaging too! Sort of defeats the whole environmentally friendly purpose don’t it?
Van Morrison LP His Band and The Street Choir (Translucent Turquoise Vinyl) $20.99 https://www.amazon.com/Street-Choir...ds=van+morrison&qid=1620424275&s=music&sr=1-2
The Cranberries - Everybody Else is Doing it, so Why Can't We? (vinyl): $21 https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B071YH8...olid=2I32RTHD15MYJ&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it This is the much-lauded Analog Spark release. Not the lowest ever (that was in 2017) but it's been dipping down to this point off and on and I'm honestly surprised it's still in print. A fantastic release through-and-through.
Not a major deal, but i bit at 18 bucks, the lowest i have seen for this classic pj record. PJ Harvey, Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea https://www.amazon.com/Stories-City...434&refinements=p_32:PJ+Harvey&s=music&sr=1-4
This album fell under the radar of just about everyone. It did not even chart in the US and only got to #39 in the UK.
I have it, and, like many latter day Elvis Costello albums, it has hits and misses. I didn't like either of the two songs issued prior to the album release, so I had low hopes. But there is some better stuff on the album. And I like that EC still sounds engaged at this late date.
It's a good enough deal for me; thanks! I've been using some of the PJ Harvey LP reissues as "fill-in" to reach free shipping thresholds at Music Direct whenever they release a new MFSL title that I want. This beats the Music Direct pricing by about $7. Hope my streak of receiving securely double-boxed LPs from Amazon continues with this one...
Maybe this really isn't that much of a deal since the list price as listed is a lot lower than it used to be, but just over $41 for the complete Twilight Zone series on blu-ray seems like a great deal to me. I paid about $30 more than that when I bought it a few years ago and thought that was a good deal. https://www.amazon.com/Twilight-Zon...ct_DLandingS_D_030702e6_61&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
I paid $60 for it back in 2018 and thought that was a good score. I recommend getting this, even though episodes are readily available to stream. The bonus content is pretty great. You get radio adaptations and commentary tracks (some culled from archived interviews).
I'm afraid to open it... The latest from Amazon. The good news is that it didn't come in the White Bag of Death and it is actually sort of in a 'box' The scary news is that it is probably the world's thinnest cardboard box known to man (or woman) This is a very rare case for me where the Spirit of Ohio must've taken over my soul or something and I ordered a rather expensive Japanese remaster of King Crimson Discipline (Amazon only had the Japanese version) So, I guess at some point I will have to drop some Valium or 'something' and somehow get up the nerve to open it...
That looks like the mailers I’ve gotten from UK sellers over the years. They’re not great, but I have to admit they work better than you’d think.
