Wow. I never knew he had cancer for nine years. But in the end, celebrities are also just like you and me. They are not entitled to let everyone know that they are battling a serious illness, and have every right to keep it private as they wish. RIP.
This may be the unfunniest thread about Norm MacDonald ever started. Never seen a man so cavalier with a quip or an inappropriate comment, if it would make people laugh. Every face on earth today who deserves a pie in it, can breathe a bit easier for this. All the worse for the rest of us. He was an unapologetic blessing: his disrespect deserves our respect. Seriously: Rest In Peace.
“There was a comedian, Patton Oswalt. He told me, ‘I think the worst part of the Cosby thing was the hypocrisy.’ And I disagreed. I thought it was the raping.” —Norm Macdonald
Hamilton Sports Guy @Yourpaldan1 4m To quote an old bit of his. Norm didn't lose a battle with cancer: "If you die, the cancer also dies at exactly the same time. So that to me is not a loss it's a draw". RIP Norm
Outside of George Carlin, I can't think of a comedian who used words more perfectly than Norm. Quietly, Norm was one of the best. It seems strange, but even in Norm's death, it just proves one thing. Germans love David Hasselhoff. RIP
Oh crud. Norm was one of the greats, easily my favorite comedian of the past 20 years. His deadpan, dry as a bone style wasn't for everyone--check out his turn at the Bob Saget Comedy Central roast to witness the genius of Norm McDonald. RIP, Turd Ferguson
Just finished watching his episode in Jerry Seinfeld's show ' Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee'. Recommended. Especially after this sad news. R.I.P. , Norm.
In a sworn deposition this week, O.J. Simpson claimed that he never beat, choked, or hit his ex-wife with a closed or open fist. Luckily for O.J., lawyers forgot to ask if he had ever cut her head off.
Aww, man. He was the coolest. Love the Dirty Work movie and his work on SNL. I often read things in his voice, he just had that sarcastic monotone that was so perfect.
He was making these jokes despite pressure from the network to take it easy on O.J. Always had me in stitches whenever he did a talk show appearance. Gone way too soon. R.I.P.
