Has anybody experienced receiving “cutouts” from Amazon before? (Amazon US, not third party)

I have recently received 2 lps which are cutouts, strategically disguised by stickers.

one was horrible condition, so is going straight back.

the other I’ve decided to keep as apart from the cutout it seems new.

    Any other experiences of this?

    Yep.
    1 was a saw cut
The other was a corner cut

Worth a call to Amazon peeps because that's actually something they should not be doing. You could be rewarded for pointing this out.

    I will do.

I was suspicious at first because of the wrapping which did not strike me as original (the resealable type) , and secondly stickers that had been placed on the front an back of the sleeve. On the front there was an "original 80s metal" sticker and then on the rear and oversize barcode.

Once I had a closer look it was obviously the stickers were placed to disguise the cutouts and corner notching. Even going to the trouble of placing plain white stickers on the inside of the sleeve so the cutout's are evident looking inside the sleeve.

I suspect they are titles that have been sourced from the website 'oldies' as I have seen these same titles on there before for dirt cheap, but have also read much of their clearance stock is badly heat affected. Sure enough, first one I opened is dished enough to use as a chip bowl.

For reference the titles were Hurricane - Over the Edge and Attila - Rolling Thunder.
Hurricane was severely dished. Attila seemed better.

SONG TO COMUS - COMUS 2XCD

$AU21 One of the best acid folk albums you will hear, really dark and menacing stuff, highly recommended! It says one CD but this is a double cd set including their second album. Last one left! Aussie stock

Me neither, but I suspect something similar in pre-order, and then of course it was heavily discounted for a while.

Unless you’re desperate to get the set ASAP, given the price bouncing of prior sets it might be worth waiting a while to see if it heads down towards $100. It’s slightly cheaper at Discrepancy Records on pre-order ($179.99) & they are always the highest price.

Yep, I'm in no hurry. If anyone breaks up the box I'd be happy with just the Re:Call set, although the books are usually good as well.
