Was supposed to be my first show, but my promised ticket never materialized. Jerry's solo on BIODTL is molten. Aside from the FE one with Duane Allman it's my favorite. :righton:

My comment below is about the suggestion on last page about “curated” band member release ala expanded Fall out from the Phil Zone

I made a suggestion like the above specific to Pigpen to be released in 2023; I made my post before Christmas. 2 to 6 discs of Pig’s greatest hits......

I like your expanded band members suggestion even more, but Pig gets the release in 2023!!!!

    VPI classic 30th anniversary.

a double shot with hot water. I believe it’s commonly referred to as an americano. I enjoy a Cappuccino but the milk just feels like too much effort.

While I imaginesome Terrapins played out for more 16 min. or more, the band never played the full suite on stage.

Bobby busted out “Terrapin Flyer” on stage with Ratdog at the Terrapin Station “family reunion” weekend (Alpine Valley) in 2002. That was awesome, and got a huge roar from the crowd. They worked it into actual TS performances after that.

  11. Excellent. Winner!

Good points by everyone, but I’m not replacing existing formats - just adding.

Of course reading this thread for guidance would be ‘supremo ‘ regarding future releases.

I’d be ecstatic with a book by them articulating the music making process and the spontaneous combustion of musical magic that evolved .from it!

They came close on 3/18/77. Great breakdown here ...

No. 3/18/77 is the one version that came closest. They had planned to do the full suite as the encore at Englishtown 9/3/77 (Bobby had a double-neck) but Mickey nixed it saying he was not up to it while he was still recovering from his auto accident.

Doing the math I wondered why my copy (Charlie Miller January 24, 2008) was coming up short, at only 275 minutes?

After some investigation--I discovered the missing portions from that version have been patched (and thank goodness!)--so I now have a copy that clocks in 283.

    Whew!

    Reworked my old cover:

Also found a new-ish SBD/AUD matrix recording of that show [90771] (which I have not heard yet) so made a companion cover (which I think is hysterical):

Throughout the day yesterday I trudged through the deep mire of 1968 shows--I can't help it, I love this stuff!!!--but in the evening I thought I should mix it up a little, just to provide some balance.

Then I flashed on 11/11/73 Winterland that was being rightly praised by @notesofachord (and others) in the thread yesterday, and thought: "perfect!"

What a show. Tremendous energy and vast portions are sublime in their beauty. Gets me every time. Not to mention "transportational." One's mind gets a little taffy-pulled by this baby.

I kind of can't believe that 3/18/77 never got the Pick treatment. So legendary with that epic Terrapin and of course that out of this world NFA>St. Stephen>Around finale. I'd love to see that with highlights from 3/19 & 3/20. Heck, a March 77 box would do it too!

I'm working at unpacking the later matrix version and, after a brief trip into 1968, relistening to this great 73 show at RFK will be tonight's "concert."
