I’ve tried… I picked up a couple of his non-titled albums in the thrift bins…but I really don’t get it. There’s nothing there.

The songs are all bland and same-y… I’ll give him credit for being an actual writer… but the lyrics in particular are weak.
I especially don’t understand how his one-man-band / linty busker schtick translates to massive venues and festivals.

Obviously he’s very good at marketing himself… and he seems like a pleasant enough sort… but his success is a mystery.

    Amusing comment.
Beware that your comment could be understood differently than your intentions with it. In this case, the nursing home may not be that far away…

    Seriously?!?
Asking such a question on a forum where the majority of the community tends to be bald and overweight Beatles fans, then what do you think the outcome will be?
    This is hilarious!

Hagstrom Please stop calling them vinyls.

Ed Sheeran is horrible. His face, his music, his entire act makes me sick to my stomach.

I think he is talented and I can respect his talent and artistry even if his music is not neccesarily my thing. Tons of people get enjoyment from his tunes and us musicians all wish for such a thing, he is living the dream.

I only minimally resent his pointless Game of Thrones cameo but I blame the showrunners more than him lol

He is a decent artist. Pretty good voice and writes OK songs but they really start to sound too alike to me. Too much R and B type chords. I guess at this point I am getting tired of hearing songs like his. Nothing unique enough for me to get interested in. I voted a good artist.

I've listened to three or four songs over the past few years, and I've found them as dull as ditchwater.

So no, I have no idea what the fuss is about

Basic, bland and boring. A mediocre singer as well. He has some cute hits though.

I'm sure he's got talent and is a decent fella, but he does nothing for me. I can take or preferably leave most of his music, it does goes in one ear and out the other leaving very little impression generally, but I absolutely hate Shape of You and I don't say that about many songs at all. Everything about it and the video makes my stomach churn. I'd like to be able to totally avoid it, but it doesn't seem possible.

I am sure Bluto would have done this with Ed's guitar.

Like it or not, Sheehan represents the old school musician in today’s mainstream. All he does is play and sing. No smoke and mirrors. So that’s a major positive. Unfortunately, his music is really bland, to my ears. Great voice though.
