Literally just announced on his Instagram page. There's not any more details at the moment but this is incredibly exciting news. Kendrick Lamar announces new album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers
Nice, been way too long. I hold the somewhat unpopular opinion that each of his albums has improved on the last so I’m excited to see what’s in store. Wonder if we’ll be getting a proper double length like TPAB with the long gestation.
FINALLY. I have been dying for some new Kung Fu Kenny. Cannot even begin to believe that it's been 5 years since DAMN. And this album title is just fun to say. Let's go!
New track out today and it’s a good one. Nice Marvin Gaye sample running through it. Album is coming out this Friday!
I know this site isn’t really the target market but how can there only be a dozen posts on the new Kendrick Lamar album in three weeks?!
It is probably just the dynamic of these boards, which is fine. But also, the album doesn't have any details other than its release. So, I'm thinking that the discussion may ramp up a bit once it's out. I'm not sure, though.
So, as someone mentioned in the other thread, there's a strong indication that this may be a double album, which I'll say has taken my anticipation of this album up a few notches!
This makes me wonder if some of the album (or one part of the double album) will have that jazzy, organic sound of TPAB. If this is really his last record for TDE, maybe he’ll do kind of a retrospective record. Go through all the sounds he’s worked with over the years. He references dying a lot in this song. Is he planning on retiring after this?
I'm curious to see if The Heart Part Five makes it onto the album. None of the others have but this seems too good a track to leave off.
With it coming out Friday, I hope we get more info today or tomorrow with tracklisting/features. Maybe even a PO.

It’s wild. This forum isn’t the biggest fan of rap “Rap is crap” etc. and also this forum is not much of a fan of newer music. I can’t wait, and look forward to a summer filled with new Kendrick accompanying me.
A return to TPAB’s sound would be great. Interesting, I didn’t know it was his last album for TDE. If so, then maybe, though Kendrick strikes me as someone that will only keep moving forward, so maybe not.
Not even The Beatles can say that their album won a Pulitzer. I just hope the expectation meets reality based off of this lead single. All signs are positive.
