I’ve only been to about 15 in my short life, but there’s still more time!

Numbers are one thing, but it's important to place quality over quantity. I had to see so many 'bad' shows for work over the years that I'm embarrassed by some of what I had to sit through.
It's great if you really like the act you're seeing!
I wonder sometimes when you see so many shows by a certain artist on the same tour, how many exact duplicates of shows are you seeing over and over...I'm not sure if I wouldn't get bored by that, personally speaking.

What about longest distanced traveled to see a show?
    Most paid for a ticket?
Number of times in the front row?
    Best piece of memorabilia saved?
    Oldest/youngest artist?
    Largest and smallest group?
    Loudest?

    Enquiring minds . . .

Congrats! I've been to more than 400 and still have my ticket stubs from about 75% of them going back to 1973. I don't think I'm gonna make it to 1000. ;o(

According to Setlist.fm, I’m on 607 concerts* since I started going in 1994 - and I have a nice round 350 different artists.

Quite happy with that, I had a quite barren period in my 20s but more than made up for it in my 30s!

*as always on Setlist.fm, if I enjoyed the opening act enough to log them as well, it counts as a separate “concert”.

Where? Did they tour the US, or did you see them overseas? I can only imagine the audiences must have been semi-hysterical, a true mania.

Would you go to a show like that? You seem to favor superstar acts.

I randomly walked into a club and paid the cover for whatever band was playing and saw Urge Overkill. I'm counting that.

The slight variants: vantage point, audience enthusiasm, parking lot scene - make shows, even those on the same tour, still seem like different experiences to me. Overall though, once per tour is enough.

I would have to imagine that with all of that Springsteen, the old Sports Arena is your 4th most attended venue.

    Well done Oatsdad!

I kept a gig diary from about 1996-2005 kind of time but foolishly stopped so don't know the exact number. I used to go to 50-60 shows a year for a few years but these days it's barely one a month. I reckon I'm somewhere around 500.

535 since December 1992. I still have all my tickets.

I'm with @LivingForever on this: I log the support act on Setlist if I thought they were good, or - my other caveat - if they're a big enough name in their own right.
As such, there are many that are not included in the 535.

    Most seen acts:
    Bruce Springsteen, 19 times
    Bob Dylan, 10 times
Elton John, 10 times (including one with Billy Joel)
Ben Folds, 9 times (including two as Ben Folds Five)
Neil Young, 9 times (including three solo acoustic, two with Crazy Horse, one with Pearl Jam)
    Eels, 8 times

    Bubbling under:
    7 times: Richard Thompson, U2
6 times: Tori Amos, Depeche Mode, Teenage Fanclub
5 times: Belle and Sebastian, Biffy Clyro, Jackson Browne, Camera Obscura, Foo Fighters (seeing them again next week, so that'll make it 6 times), Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Pearl Jam, Rufus Wainwright, Wilco.
a-ha will hit five by the end of the year too.

I’ve played over a 1000 gigs and mixed well over a 1000, does that count.

Andy Smith .....Like a good pinch of snuff......

Congrats on keeping score. Clueless as to my own. As for shows per year, I'm probably the same as you. Quite pleased with myself that at the ripe ol' age of 61 I still have that enthusiasm for live performances.
My first show/gig (accompanying my folks) was in '65. If I was to do any sort of life-long comparison, probably thoroughly enjoyed 70%, walked out of or not enjoyed 30%.

    2X Ringo.
No George or John - too young in the 70s!

Would've seen George if he extended his 1990s Japan tour to the US, but alas, that didn't happen! :sigh:

1998 and 2007-08 tours were all US for me, but in 1999 and 2019, I had to go to the UK.

The Spice Girls crowds were most manic in 1998/99 since that's when they consisted mostly of kids. By 2007, the fans were now adults, so there wasn't as much screaming! :)
