1957 CBS "Cinderella" to DVD

Image Entertainment will release the Rodgers & Hammerstein presentation of "Cinderella" starring Julie Andrews on Dec.7th. This video presentation was first aired on CBS on March 31, 1957. The live 90 minute show was telecast in color to the East coast and shown by B&W kinescope to the West coast 3 hours later. This "Cinderella" is not to be confused with the 1965 CBS color telecast starring Leslie Ann Warren.

Late word is that PBS will air this show in B&W in Dec. as part of their "Great Performances" series. I assume this means the DVD will also be in B&W. Color videotape was still some months away for CBS in 1957. The live color presentation must have been spectacular. Will never know....
