I would add the remastered and expanded version of Elton John's Here & There, which went from being meh to magnificent! And also the incredible "Live At Last" by the Divine Miss M herself, Bette Midler. It might not be to everyone's taste but it was a magnificent representation of her live career and I couldnt get enough of it when it first came out. Still love it to this day. I wish they would put out a DVD of the show, and also remaster and expand the soundtrack for Divine Madness while theyre at it! :)

I would also include the two Queen live shows from the Rainbow and the Hammersmith Odeon. Recorded in 1974 and 1975 respectively, they show a band in top form. Amazing stuff. I cant wait for more 70s live Queen!

You'll get no argument from me, but the OP specified albums that were recorded and released in the 70s. Sadly, only the truncated USA (which really needed to be a double album to convey the awesome might of this band) and the unfortunate Earthbound would qualify from King Crimson by this criteria. If we start opening it up to all of their archival releases, it would be impossible to know where to stop!

Good list, additonal ones that came to mind to me were Paul Winter Consort-Road, Bruford-The Bruford Tapes, Oregon-In Performance, Weather Report-Live in Tokyo, Mahavishnu Orchestra-Between Nothingness & Eternity.

I don't know much about Man. Seems like a good excuse to go to YouTube. Of those three, which do you like the best?

Surprised the Concert For Bangladesh wasn't on the list. One of the all-time most historic concerts ever, a precursor to events like Live Aid, with an incredible lineup of amazing musicians led by George Harrison. The Dylan set alone makes it a must have album and DVD.

I saw Slade opening up for Frampton's Camel and the J. Geils Band in '72 and I bought their "Slade Alive" album shortly after. I went to see Frampton, but it was
"Mama Weer All Crazee Now" that was stuck in my head when I left the show.

I only really discovered this album about a few years ago but man I gotta say, this is one of the greatest of all time. This was definitely the template for the Alive album by KISS.

  25. Yes yes yes! And the Performance:the complete recordings box is even better. I strongly encourage you to track down a copy. Worth every penny. I even bought a second copy for my brother.
