here is my last years list: >buckingham-nicks - s/t >neil young - time fades away >neil young - journey through the past >steve miller - rock love >steve miller - recall the beginning: journey from eden >bob seger - noah >bob seger - back in '72 >bob seger - brand new morning >beatles - rarities >beatles - love songs >stephen stills - still stills >crosby*nash - the best of (green cover) >steely dan - 'dallas' and 'sail the waterway' EP >the second secret policeman's ball (w/townsend) (1 & 3 are on CD) >roseanne cash - s/t (her true first album) >dave clark five - the entire catalog >dave mason - dave mason is alive (supposedly out, but not to be found anywhere) some lesser know albums, albeit still not on CD as far as I know: >longbranch pennywhistle >shiloh >eric stewart - frooty rooties >eric stewart - girls girls girls >ali thomson - take a little rhythm >ali thomson - deception is an art >inside moves soundtrack - includes the very rare ambrosia song "outside". >jim capaldi - electric nights >richard torrance - other than "bareback" (released in france) nothing. >the hombres - anything >richard and the young lions - anything >the balloon farm - anything >the woolies - anything CAME OUT (SORT OF) "time fades away" came out, albeit only in a 4 CD set, hopefully this year it will be released individually. eric stewart put out an "anthology" which had 7 of the 9 songs from 'frooty rooties" and 1 songs from 'girls". i keep hearing the steve miller 'joureny from eden" is available overseas, i have not bought it, and i don't think 'rock love' was released at all. still have never seen nor found 'dave mason is alive". but it is also supposedly available in japan. add to last years list: boz scaggs first solo album - again supposedly in europe, do not know if it real or not. the doors - 13 - unbelievably not on CD concert for kampuchea
I nearly had to add the Sylvers' early albums but recently I found out that limited edition CDs of the albums came out in Japan this year.
bought two versions of this awhile ago(UK & Japan) on this forum learned both Un Official. The UK (terrible sounding)Japan (better) but would love for this to be released (and well mastered is caveat here I believe?)"Officially".
stephen stills - still stills crosby*nash - the best of (green cover) Can't see why they would ever re-issue these on CD when they have been superseded by various box sets. Even as a fan I wouldn't pick them up
At this point, having them on digital download only might actually make some sense. I don't mean within this forum but to music consumers in general....it's a streaming and iTunes / Amazon download world now. Not a threadcrap attempt btw - there's a number of fairly obscure albums I own on LP that have never gotten a CD release or perhaps did 30 years ago and quickly went OOP. At this point I would be very surprised if they ever got a CD release, but that's why I just do vinyl rips instead. As for the OP's question itself I would add Chance the Rapper's "Coloring Book" which is streaming / digital download only and not at all obscure. No official vinyl release either, at least not as of this writing.
MUSICA ORBIS - To The Listeners CHERYL DILCHER - Butterfly TRANQUILITY - Silver THE MOVIES - s/t (arista)
Not sure why Kraftwerk always ignores these albums. There's some good tracks on those. There are high quality bootleg CDs of these that are pretty common/cheap.
if i recall correctly, 25 years ago, or more, the magazine CD review had the buckingham-nicks album as the #1 album most wanted by fans on CD....and we still do not have it.
News on Ali Thomson: New Releases This will likely be available only on download sites but Renaissance does issue 16 bit FLACs on 7Digital.
Revenge Will Come by Greg Copeland. Produced by Jackson Browne. I have no idea why this hasn't been released.
