My wife was overjoyed to learn this morning via @zakyfarms and @pghmusiclover that the very estimable Numero Group had announced
ECTOTROPHIA, a compilation of tracks from the long out of print first four Happy Rhodes albums.

Apart from a single 12" DJ remix, this is the very first time any of Happy's music has been released on vinyl.

Considering there was a 8 year gap since 2014 Seven Dials and 2006 Western Skies. Before that 4 year gap to Surf means a new one in 2030 ! I know the man waits for quality and hoping now he is on Edwyn Collins AED label we will have shorter time “frame”

Deep Purple has the remixed Made in Europe and the Jakarta 75 docummenrary ready for ages, waiting fir the 68-76legal issues to be sorted out. Probably more Edel archive releases are being held for the same reason.

 

I had no idea and was literally hoping for a new Kim Wilde record and we're getting one in April!

King Crimson will presumably have another mega box set, probably focusing on the 2000-2003 era of the band. Would be cool to get that Montreux 2003 video footage finally...

I share your aspiration for a Thick as a Brick reissue, this time with a flat transfer of SW's mix, as with the other Tull deluxe editions. One can dream...

 

Specifically for 2018: all I want and wait for is the 40th anniversary box set of Rush's Hemispheres with surround BR/DVD mix by Steven Wilson, but what I really need out of this box set is one of the legendary full concerts from the tour. (I listened on youtube the Tucson gig where they played all of Hemispheres, most of Farewell and most of 2112 and to this day it's the gig I most want officially released, don't know if it was the best one of the tour but the setlist is insane!)

Hopefully for 2018:
- I've been wishing for a collection of b-sides, edits, remixes, non album songs, etc of Peter Gabriel's discography. But for some reason I can wait for the new studio album.
- New Tool album

But as I've been hoping for the past 6 years, box sets and anniversary reissues put a huge smile on my face as long as they're done right and this has been a great year! I barely buy any new music from new bands anymore.

I didn't know this was being reissued again. I LOVE this album.

Do you know if the "These Boots" issue with the Lee Hazelwood Estate has been resolved and the original uncensored version is being used???

 

I haven't seen Dave Mustaine confirm it yet. All I've seen is him saying it's a new remaster and there will be new artwork. I love the album as well. It's probably my favorite Megadeth album.

Megadeth is also writing new music so hopefully we'll get a new album from them in 2018 as well. Dave Ellefson is relaunching Combat records so I wouldn't be surprised if one or both releases is on that label.
