So true, and if I’m not mistaken there is a number of album sales required to make into the hall of fame no ?

So why do we need the R&RHoF to tell us who is famous? Shouldn't that be pretty much self-evident?

I think in terms of recorded output, the Pixie trump (Le Monde) Jane's Addiction. But Jane's gets some bonus points for Farrell/Lalapalooza. And the sympathy vote for having gotten caught and done time for stealin'.

Not sure why you are drawing attention to this. Is it supposed to be some badge of honour?

Googling the names of nominees I’m not familiar with is one of my favorite elements of the Hall announcement every year. Wasn’t necessary for me this year, but I’ve learned a lot about artists that I was unfamiliar with because they were nominated for the Hall of Fame.

Let’s try it again our own music hall of fame and it will actually get harder from 90s and on because with the80s we induct all the most successful glam metal bands

Are the "Dolls" still not in there?

But they want to put Dave Matthews and Lenny Kravitz in?

Makes no bloody sense to me.

I think the Dolls were much more visually influential (& talented) then musically.

Platinum is huge. Besides Willin there's Dixie Chicken, Sailing Shoes, Oh Atlanta, Fat Man in the Bath Tub to name four others that are well known / recognizable to the general public. And several of these have been covered by other artists for decades now. :magoo:

They originally CLAIMED that the HOF was about importance, not sales. Today that appears to have been a big lie, but I would prefer it.

Those are great songs but they are definitely not recognizable to the general public IMO.

Most of my friends were familiar with Willin'. There's that & more importantly, LF was influential & the original band before the country stars replaced LG was extremely talented.

Since when did a perceived lack of musical talent prevent entry to the R'n'R HOF?

But honestly can anyone really say that either of these two bands were anything more than just average rock bands from their era? I mean they really don't offer anything innovative, especially creative, or highly influential, just big sales numbers. I mean if we are being completely honest.
