I just love the scene where he throws Don Stroud down the stairs. Don never fared well in Clint's movies.

He was loyal to his co stars like like Albert Popwell who was featured in Dirty Harry( also Coogan’s Bluff/Magnum Force).
Made sure they got a bit of work.

Ha! A pre-Byrds Skip Battyn (sic) is one of the hippies in the club scene.

Watched Dirty Harry for the umpteenth time. What drives it along is the soundtrack.

Not a film mention but a favorite Clint anecdote/quip told by Burt Reynolds, that I remember seeing as a kid on the Carson show in the late 70s, but it seems Burt told this story many times.
So if you're not familiar with it, here it is.
From Letterman in 1984. It's long segment but the Clint part starts at 13:50 min into it.

Oh have I mentioned Kelly's Heroes is probably my favorite Clint movie.
But it is really the brilliance of the understated ensemble cast that makes it so, more than Clint's performance.

Every single role casting and performance in Kelly's Heroes is pitch perfect.
Sutherland, Telly, Carroll O'Conner, Don Rickles, Harry Dean Stanton, Stuart Margolin, even the actor that plays Fischer...just brilliance all around.
    I love that film!!
I've probably watched it over 100 times over the years, since seeing it as little kid in the theatre with my dad.

The Good The Bad and The Ugly has to be Clint‘s most cinematic looking film.

Think the lady in question appeared in loads of his films. A good run.

  24. Oh yeah but when they broke up it was pretty nasty. I never saw the appeal of her as an actress myself.
