BTW and maybe it's already been said but this is not just a live box, it has the original studio albums as well.

The live box would be just fine; why to include something that everyone interested already has?

Discussing the release of ‘Unburied Treasure’ the limited 30CD live Box Set being released at the end of October on Snapper Records maybe?

So, it's gone to from 20 t0 30. I think who ever wrote the blurb got it wrong about it all being live as well as the number. We'll see at the end of October maybe. Is it interesting that Ray and Phil are sporting chrome domes while Derek has a full head of hair at 72? ;)

I am not too keen on live stuff, but studio stuff would be fine. 'Scraping the Barrel' showed that interesting things exists, but for some inexplicable reason the best stuff was faded out: an (early or rehearsal) stripped down relaxed version of 'Cogs in Cogs' limited to just 10 sec tugged at the end of the track 'The Boogie and the Woogie'. Of course, the silence, false start and banter before (funny though) is included in all raging glory - uncut ...
I even would take an mp3 of that. Speaking of which, 'Scraping the Barrel' included a 4th disc of mp3 files, which would have been a good place for this rehearsal take (and similar sessions). But no, we get the "FBI-tape" - an originally ERASED tape, that for miraculous reasons contained more than just white noise ...

I didn't expect them to include the Wilson BluRays here, of course, but I am disappointed it doesn't seem to include the 'Giant On The Box' DVD. Unless they mean 30 discs in general and not specifically 30 CDs.

I never did get 'Scraping The Barrel', so I'm hoping all that stuff is on here too.

Looks like he did the big Wishbone Ash box and some Manfred Mann's Earth Band among others. How was the sound on those?

So... At first we get Three Piece Suite because not all the masters could be found for those albums, and now we get a full 5.1 mix of the debut but it's only in a $300+ box...?

This looks incredible! If I had the money this is the box set I'd get. Looks like I won't get the upcoming Floyd box set after all. I wish we could get a brief preview of how the audience recordings sound, I love this band in concert.

Ordered! Not much here that I don't have already, but it looks to be a very nice package and it's good to support the band. I'm hoping for a sonic upgrade to the later albums, particularly The Missing Piece. (And PLEASE - no brickwalling.)

I know what happened, but I'm not sure I'm allowed to say... :sigh:

I just remembered the post quoted below, I think the answer may be in there...
There is also another post somewhere in which Dan Bornemark is quoted stating his surprise that no-one contacted him about those tapes when they did the Three Piece Suite (if I remember correctly).

I was finally hoping for remix of the The Missing Piece!

Interview would be first on my list, but that would be great, too! The Kevorkian remaster finally made it listenable, but only a remix could really do it justice.
Which brings me to the question: why another round of remasters? The ones done by Fred Kevorkian were received warmly — even on this forum!

Perhaps there will be a more minimalist approach this time. I like the Kevorkian remasters, for the most part (the ones I've heard), but there's no denying they are noticeably compressed. The same is true for Eroc's takes on the first four albums (from digital copy sources), which I love. If we could get the tonality of these masters with less (or no) compression/limiting, that would be great.

I would hazard a guess that the 5.1 of the first album will eventually get a individual separate release down the road. The idea now is it's an enticement for you to buy the big box. I wonder when Steven had time to do his remix magic on this? Also, the files for the multi tracks that Dan Bornemark had were not hi res if I remember correctly, so how can them be remixed in 96/24? Any insight into this Thomas @Plan9?
