Incredible opportunity and memory for a kid fer sure .....! Damn, so sad there aren't more recordings .....
about that fellow-Swede Britt Ekland ..... here's one of her greatest hits, from the James Bond film in 1974. (though the scene is equally about other fellow-Swede Maud Adams) Man With the Golden Gun (James Bond 1974) Britt Ekland in bikini plus plane flight music She was (is) about 3 years older than Frida and Björn ..... I wonder what she thought of ABBA ... she'd already been in America for quite a while . there was that time when she was Rod Stewart's girlfriend ..... . don't forget marrying Peter Sellers..... 1964 and much later .... the drummer from The Stray Cats ! Sadly, ABBA's drummer Ola Brunkert died in a tragic accident in his house back in 2008. Abba drummer Ola Brunkert found dead with throat cut in Spain
Yeah ..... that's pretty sad and awful . he was there early on, drummed on "People Need Love" ..... "Waterloo" .... so much more ..... was on all eight albums.
GREAT remembrance. Getting to the show from LA was a massive cluster ... Friday night getaway traffic, accidents and other competing events in Anaheim. We missed the first song and a half.
She's had an amazing life ! She came from hardscrabble post-war poverty and struggle .... and the stigma of her being fathered by a German soldier ..... Now she's got an actual title, Princess Anni-Frid Synni of Reuss, Countess of Plauen.
I remember the show started a little late. There was an announcement about the traffic from an Angels game which just let out.
For those who were at the concert, would you be able to answer a question I’ve had for YEARS regarding their stage costumes? All of the official photographs that I’ve seen show both the “white” version of the stage costumes, and the “dark blue” version of the costumes. Were these variants both worn during the same show, or was it a case of one colour one night, and another colour the next night?
Mine was like the top one, but I don't remember the large ABBA above them. Could there have been another?
I'll leave this to ABBAFANUSA since he clearly didn't smoke pot at the show he saw, but I think I remember blue, and maybe both. I think it was both.
San Diego Sports Arena 9-22-79 this show was reportedly not sold out .... around 3,ooo attendees? afterwards they returned to their hotel in L.A....... I guess Agnetha flew with them .
Congratulations to the folks who saw ABBA on their only North American tour in 1979, and are here to speak to their experience. Forty years is a long time. I attended ABBA's Concord show -- thank you for the thread, FloydMaui.
BTW..this poster is FAKE. It's homemade by a guy in Italy who originally sold them on Etsy. He's made quite a few concert prints over the years.
