The off-stage portions of the film were shot two days earlier in the French city of Reims.

    The concert footage is incredible.
The interviews unfortunately don't add to the movie (some things said are kind of dumb), but that's a minor thing, not even a complaint; the movie has the best footage AC/DC has ever released over the years, with the original, BON-LED lineup.

I didn’t realize this was from the HTH tour. Just assumed it was connected to the era of the album of the same name. And released after Back in Black to boot. Interesting...

I remember seeing it as a special release in theaters around 1981 or 1982. They even sold merch in the lobby and I ended up buying a baseball shirt that had the 'If You Want Blood' graphic on the front and 'Let There Be Rock' on the back.

Shouldn’t the film have been called Highway to Hell or at least If You Want Blood..

    ..just a little confusing.

I saw it in a Theater in Portland OR around the time of it's release.

I vaguely remember going alone, which seems odd. But I think that's what I did... hmmm...

Absolutely awesome - Bon-era AC/DC is as about as good as it gets.

Saw this in a special release years ago where they advertised the showing would be "as loud as a concert." And boy was it loud in the theater. That worked well for the concert portion, but the backstage stuff sounded ridiculous. I remember thinking at the time that the audio of the cases being unloaded and rolled up to the stage didn't need to be at concert level.

    ... and there was Rock!

Amazing film. I would prefer it to be just the music, but as Nigel Tufnell said, that's just nitpicking.

It would have been great if they had filmed Judas Priest too. They were at their peak then.

Considering how little there is of, for example, Motörhead's classic line up, on film, we're relatively lucky to have so much wonderful footage of Bon era AC/DC along with this film. Phenomenally great high voltage rock 'n' roll.

I saw it twice on opening weekend. I had a buddy who insisted we buy advanced tickets and he could only go on Sunday afternoon. Friday night I'm hanging with some other friends and we are trying to decide what to do and someone mentions this movie. Everyone wants to go so despite my pleas that I'm already seeing it on Sunday off we go. It was at the Loma Theater (now a Bookstar), not too far from the Sports Arena in San Diego. The theater had brought in some extra speakers and really cranked up the sound. I thought it was great on Friday night and still pretty good seeing it again on Sunday (the theater was maybe 10% full on Sunday afternoon. Good thing we had advanced tickets!).

Who chose the tour itinerary in those days ? Was it the record company, based on local sales figures ?

This is the best concert footage of the band that I'm aware of.
To me it is a shame that there hasn't been a release without the interruptions.
Put the chat on in a separate section.
    Otherwise brilliant.

I love how you hear the static buzz from the amps when Angus turns his volume up.

On the Blu-ray you can program just the music part if I remember right
