Like to start a discussion about the album on what you like and don't like about it, favorite song or songs on the album, the upcoming super deluxe release info and release date, different variations of vinyl and cds that are collectible or not, etc....

My favorite song off the album is Dear Prudence and I am so looking forward to the super deluxe release and what will be contained in the release if anyone has any info please share.

This is a standout release for me from the Beatles it gives you a little of everything they have to offer IMO. Just picked up the 2014 mono of the album and to my ears sounds great.

I'll start: nothing has been confirmed at the moment. It's just speculation.

Thanks for starting the new thread!

The white album was my first Beatles CD. I was blown away by the diversity and fun contained on this album.

    I prefer stereo.

My favorite songs are Savoy Truffle, Mother Nature Son and Sexy Sadie.

I use remastered CD and Blue Box vinyl when I feel the urge to listen (which isnt very often).

    My favorite side is 2.

    Remix? Sure.

    Better as single album? No.

Like Rev 9? Yes, I consider it the index.

I've owned Capitol cassette tape, 60s Apple lp, 70s purple capitol lp, 80s capitol rainbow lp, blue box lp, mono box lp, 87 cd, 09 cd, mono cd.

    Chief export: chrome

That should cover all the bases.

I like Lady Madonna better than Ob-La-Di so I would have swapped those tracks. That's just me though. It's pretty damn perfect as it is.

I like the Anthology 3 version of "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" more.

Yes, I find the broad spectrum of music on "The Beatles" to be a huge part of it's appeal.

It cannot be contained on one LP. It requires two! :)

Revolution 9 and Good Night make the album like a movie with a really scary surprise ending. When you watch it again, it clouds the entire movie. That’s one reason why the White Album is so cool.

Some different takes (obladi oblada for example), some different mixes, and some demos made at George’s house.

    It's a bit different:

I love those harmonies in "happy ever after" verse

They're gonna do it. It'll cost very little to put together and they'll make a tidy profit off of it. The only thing in question is what took them so long to start doing this.

This is legitimately the only tolerable version of this song. I wish they'd used it on the album.

I've been listening to this album for nearly fifty years. It's always been a "complete work" to me, every song complimenting the whole. It was an astonishing piece of music when it came out. Those first few tracks - the Beach Boys pastiche of Back In The USSR and the transition into Dear Prudence and on and on and on. I only had the mono version until about ten years ago, so I was able to relive the whole thing anew when I finally got the stereo CD. And the Kinfauns stuff - I got them on a bootleg LP called "Off White" about twenty years ago - I was unaware of their existence until I walked into that record shop and saw that album, so another big thrill. There are probably some tracks I listen to more than others (from the official LP and that bootleg) but the honesty and humour and imagination of that set of songs makes it my favourite Beatles album. Except maybe With The Beatles... And Hard day's Night is pretty good... And Rubber Soul, oh I love that... and Revolver... and on and on and on...
