    Harper's charted the hit single in the 60s. S&G never released a single of the Paul Simon song. Many do not realize this fact.

    Yes, but I think you mean of of the original cast albums. The first of which was from the off Broadway cast album from 1967 and the original Broadway cast album was from 1968.

    Hair, the movie, which was the "soundtrack" version of the play was released in 1979.
