No, it does not. I have both and the SACD is significantly better.

I liked the SACD slightly better than the MFSL > but a good vinyl copy beats both of these.

I think that selling price is clearly a bit over the top - but that aside, I think it's a nice sounding disc - though I sold mine and kept the SACD and Harvest Japan CD versions because I personally like those a bit better. Of those two I'd take the Harvest Japan if forced to choose - the SACD is interesting for the incredible detail conveyed but tonally it's the inferior of the two for me. I kept it primarily because it's fun to spin now and again and sounds the most "different" of these CD pressings to me, but not necessarily best.

These kinds of discussions always crack me up - like there is universal, unequivocal agreement that the MFSL is inferior to the other versions people may prefer. That's not true in general and not even true here on the SH Forums, though there is of course a strong vocal contingency supporting certain pressings.

After having heard the MFSL I can certainly see how some might reasonably conclude that it is their "go to" version. Nothing shabby about it.

I don't get it, I see lots of other older discs that sound like crap sell for hundreds on EBay just because they are a certain pressing from a certain country. Nobidy bats an eye around here when those discs sell for huge money.

I think what many are reacting to, or at least I am, is that we see many hyperbolic claims on ebay.

While the CD is not bad, as far as digital goes it is at best no higher than #4 behind the SACD, the Grail, the Holland silver, and the UK.

    In my opinion...

Since this is a classifieds forum I best not give my negative opinions on specific discs as "someone" could be attempting to sell them here in the near future. It would not be right. I should have added IMO to the previous statement.

Plus it might be my system or hearing, not the discs.
