It's an Asylum movie. They're kind of like if Troma wanted to give the impression of doing relatively "straight" movies, but where they know they're really still Troma. Asylum are the folks who did the Sharknado films. Although those were more in the vein of Troma saying "Hey, we're here and we're going to have a kitschy good time--at least as much as we can with this budget." But a lot of Asylum films are done with a relatively straight face, almost as part of the goof, and occasionally they've made some pretty good films, but usually their logo is a sign to get into a particular kind of "ironic" frame of mind.
Ok, that gives me a rough idea of what is all about. I haven't seen the Sharknado movies but it was clear they didn't intend to be serious. I occasionally like very bad movies that make me laugh but too much of a good thing can be bad and this doesn't seem for me. Thank you! PS: I suppose after sinking it will bounce back to the surface.
One of my all-time favorite movies. It's a classic. For the longest time I never met anyone else who had ever even seen it, let alone liked it. I think you either just get it, or don't, and there's no in-between. On that note, the other day I watched the blu-ray I bought of another movie that I love in the same exact way. Ski School. it's a bad movie, but it's so good in its badness. Now Ski School 2 is just bad.
To this day, whenever I hear a page concerning a meeting in the conference room, I yell out "Conference Room!!!!"
Ted V. Mikels was great and a wonderful guy...and he did other fun movies...The Corpse Grinders! which was available on Vinegar Syndrome...great!
