Check the link. Anyone know if this is the same as the DCC gold? Weird.

The photo definitely isn't as far as I know. Mine is different. He says it's mastered by Steve though. Ask.

Just sent the seller some questions. We'll see.

The back is very similar to mine - except on mine there are no graphics to the left of the bar code, nor graphics to the left of the Artemis label (bottom left).
The one on ebay is also missing the DCC Compact Classics label at the bottom. In addition, there are two extra lines of text where the credits are - right above Steves name (which is at the bottom). Think it's the original recording credits.
I'm sure the seller will not know anything - think you will get your answer here.

I think that the guy who produced or recorded this concert originally lives in Brazil.

Here are the questions I sent the seller:

"Hi, does the CD packaging say mastered by Steve Hoffman and is this a
24k gold disc? Also is there a catalog # on the packaging, if so, what?
    Thanks!"

    This was his response:

"I know what you are looking for. Do you mean the US version right ?
This is the brazilian one. It's currently out of print here.
It's not a GOLD disc and does not come with a serial number.

I had the US version once ... and already sold.
    Here it goes :
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2571919428

    Thanks,
    Flavio"

So, this is not a gold disc but is either mastered by Steve or wrongly says it is.

Somewhat tangentially I'll mention that I once had a copy of a disc on a European label I had never heard of that was mastered by Steve. It was a copy of an aluminum disc issued by DCC in the U.S. (Gabor Szabo and Lena Horne "Watch What Happens!"). Comparing the two discs I was convinced that it was truly a clone of Steve's work, but the European disc was manufactured with ink that was cauing the label side to disintegrate.

I never was sure whether the European disc was a legitimate release (ie, did the manufacturer actually have the right to clone the DCC disc).

Steve's masterings have been known to pop up in some unfamiliar pressings. I asked Steve about this and he said "yes, it's quite posiible because once my masterings are complete the company that owns them has the rights to use them if it's in the contract that I did."
