I've recently gotten it into my head that I need to track down the best version of this tune. I have the CD of Old Friends . I have the song on lp via the Mastersound lp of BOTW , the quad pressing of the same, and an ancient, battered copy of Greatest Hits . Oddly enough I find myself preferring the latter. It just sounds more like music to me. That said, how are the Classic Record pressings of BOTW ? Any difference between the 180g and 200g mastering? How's the original? How does the original mono single differ?

I have the Classic 180g and it's great. Certainly better than the gold CD and the Old Friends box. I haven't heard the 200g and my original Columbia LP is an ancient memory on an inferior system.

  3. I usually play the aforementioned gold cd, but a clean 360-sound vinyl pressing akin to my 'Bookends' lp would likely beat it. "America" just sounds amazing on that pressing.
