    It was an Ethernet cable that gave me the problem after pulling out what little hair I still have left 'in search for the mischievous hum'!!!

    Dressing my interconnects, getting them away from 'insulated' power cables, helped too.

    There is still a slight hum on my phono preamp when I crank the gain to 66db but it can't be heard when a record is playing.

    I followed the suggestions where possible.
