A question about grounding wire

    It has to do with the capacitance of the cable. You might be able to use slightly longer phono cables if the cable has low capacitance but you can google and find lots of information about phono cable length and capacitance.

    In the case your set up really requires your turntable to be further from your receiver/Integrated than the traditional 1 meter cables then this provides an excellent opportunity to upgrade your phono preamp! Get a dedicated phono preamp that you keep close to turntable and run the longer RCA's to a line input on your amplifier. Win win.

    The ground wire can be as long as you want. I was referring to the phono cables.
