A tip for those looking for a basic Universal remote for a Pioneer LaserDisc player

You can look up the previous post with the same title in this forum for more information. Basically i have a DVL-V888 laser disc player and i got an RCU500 remote to go with it. Does anyone know of an alternate code to get this remote working with this player? Can anyone confirm that they have this remote working with this player? I tried everything in the manual and the code search function and nothing worked.

 

I would suggest picking up a Harmony 665 Remote (about $50). They have the codes for thousands of A/V devices going back to the 80’s. I verified on my remote that the commands for your device are included as well.

This has really good codes/button placement for budget and the learning memory seems endless unlike other ones I tried.

 

I owned a Harmony 880 I think that was the model. It was pretty great. Lots of ways to customize. I might still have it laying around somewhere.
