I’ll be buying the triple vinyl & listening to the demos & outtakes first & then the remixed album. I want to hear the development before listening to the finished album.

    Can’t. Wait.

    :)

First the remix, then the sessions...all while I'm reading the book.

Looking forward to the 5.1 mix. Hope it is NOT like Sgt Pepper. Oh, please, please, PLEASE do NOT be like Sgt Pepper !

Really surprised with the relative lack of promotion by Apple. For the last two releases, it was Giles leading the campaign with listening sessions and interviews. So far this time, nada - Giles has been totally missing.

Not much in the media either. No specials scheduled for the TV. Nothing on YouTube besides the promo tracks. The big announcement on August 8 hasn’t been backed up much at all....

The lack of promotion especially helps maintain Abbey Road's elegance. It was never extroverted like Sgt. Pepper or underground like the White Album.

Now like a five star hotel awaiting its grand reopening. :)

Was going to say this. Seems like a dearth of promotion this time out.

Seems to me if you aren't a die-hard Beatles fan, you might not even know this is happening. I've seen no advertisement for it whatsoever.

I signed up for Amazon's 90 day trial of their music service, which, if you haven't heard, is now in CD (or greater) quality. So I'll get to listen at midnight on the 26th.

    Oh! Darling
    already sounds better!

It’s all very strange because after Sgt. Pepper, Abbey Road is still their best chance to hit the top of the charts again. Abbey Road sells best of all their albums and probably has one of the most recognized album covers ever.

I would think it means something to them to do well on the charts and I can’t see why they are not putting much effort into that this time. Pepper reissue hit #1 in the UK and #3 in the USA. With some more promo, Abbey Road could make a return to the top again.

It does feel that way doesn’t it? Let’s hope Giles Martin’s remix doesn’t reflect that as well.

Maybe they will do a big surprise marketing for next week, but yes, the marketing of this one is strange, even on social midia of the band, very few things of AR box set.

Does it really sound better? Just because it’s Hi-Res?

Let's be clear: Hi-Def audio these days means 'merely CD quality'. But yeah, it sounds better to me un-compressed.

Also, really digging the remix more than ever. The stereo backing vocals really grow on you, till you can't do without them.

I’m also looking forward to the remix. I hope they didn’t lower the guitars!

Not to open a can of worms, but you wouldn't rather have the AAC version from iTunes than mp3?

What does he mean ? Interview with Ringo or Giles Martin ? Any chance he'd play the new Ringo-Paul song ? On his show ?
