This weekend I was given a collection of about a hundred records by a friend who was "cleaning up" his house. There is a little of everything here from show tunes to The Clash but the bulk of the collection is accoustic, Blue Grass, Old Timey Country and Revival Country (Doc Watson, Vassar Clements, Peter Rowan, Seldom Scene, etc.) I know that the members of this forum are mostly concerned with Rock/Pop music as am I but without comment on the music I wanted to mention how incredibly better accoustic music sounds on LP then on CD. Obviously, I don't have most of these albums on CD to compare but I was astounded at how much more warmth and resonance these recordings have then the digital accoustic recordings I do have. Leo Kottke never sounded better.
