Looks like solid list of early Kiss influences! I guess I missed Vol. 1.

Seems like Ace has sort of been the most commercially active and relevant part of Kiss the last few years.

I really enjoyed Origins Vol 1, but the pessimist in me is questioning whether Ace is able to come up with any more original material.

Slipping "Space Ace" Truckin" into the lyric is now so predictable - yes your the Spaceman Ace!! If only you had been so precious about the damn role when you were in the band.

Ace's covers range from the pretty decent (Emerald) to the cringe worthy (The Joker) - so between this and Vol.1 we should be able to pull out a decent album.

I saw this yesterday, though I was crazy about the first volume, I'm ready to give this a try. It's great that Ace has been making up for lost time since he got sober.

Sounds better than the last few Ace releases...and the lead is better than expected after reading some other reviews...but oh man the cheese factor is high with this one. Curly? Space Ace? Ack!

Space Invader was a great record IMO.

I'm buying it for 2 reasons:

    1) It's Ace(& he's always been my favorite member of the band)

    2) I liked Origins vol 1.

Whilst I partially agree, it would have been a significantly better album if a) they had used the full length version of Gimmie A Feelin on the album (the fade out sucks) and b) the version of The Joker is one of the worst songs I have heard full stop. a real painful listen and a real misjudgement that should have been left off. Yet again Ace trying so very desperately to squeeze a space theme out of every song. The jokes on us though because on my version he added an extended version of that track.

Ace has become so self-referential, he's in Ringo territory these days.

This version of "Space Truckin'" is reeeaaally bad.

Well it's not Deep Purple, and granted the "Space-Ace" tag is cheesy as all get out, but it's a musically solid and competent cover. I don't find it to be absolutely terrible. Just my opinion...

    I enjoyed Space Invader.
Not sure an album of covers interests me.

Sadly I just wish he had managed to deliver on the potential that his first albums showed. That first solo album is a rock classic to me, since then just a little ho hum for me..... I did like Rock soldiers though

Vinyl pre order already sold out (1000 copies). But I am certain there will be at least 5 different colored vinyl versions that will be released over the next year or so....

Really like the artwork. Nice he had the twin towers in volume 1, now he has 1WTC in the background.

Yes, I enjoyed Space Invader...I was talking about the sonics of Space Truckin' sounding better than the last few releases.

It was previously reported that "Origins Vol. 2" would feature guest appearances by Lita Ford (on THE ROLLING STONES' "Jumpin' Jack Flash"), CHEAP TRICK's Robin Zander (on HUMBLE PIE's "30 Days In The Hole", former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick (on Jimi Hendrix's "Manic Depression") and ROB ZOMBIE's John 5 (on BEATLES' "I'm Down" and CREAM's "Politician").

nobody else noticed that half of the song Space Truckin' is missing from his version? A whole verse is missing i believe and then the jam part isn't there either.
Ace's version is only 2:30 in length or so, while the original is 4:52.....so we get half the song really.

I like it and think it sounds great, but to me it's just weird that half the song is missing....

Not sure what you mean by his version, there are two videos, one full length, the other is the single version.

OH!! i only knew of the one version that was posted on this one music news site i went to and that version had a really short 2 and a half minute version and that's it...
guess i need to find the real video in order to hear the whole song then i guess....weird, what is the need for 2 versions of the song?? It's not like the full song is really that long or anything...very weird.
