they're usually super quick with orders so they deserve some patience if they are behind, from what i'm experiencing this is the case with most retailers right now.

 

Does anyone have an idea of when the next sale happens this time of year?

 

It appears, as of yesterday, that they don't even offer 10% off anymore. I had a few things in my cart that I was going to purchase yesterday and the "10PERCENT" coupon is invalid and there is nothing on their website that advertises it anymore.

What a bummer! Between this and starting to charge sales tax, I can't see myself shopping there nearly as often.

Yep, any deals are killed by the tax they now charge. I usually wait for the 15% off sales they have a few times a year. The 15% off usually includes everything in stock.

 

I would imagine President’s Day/Valentines Day weekend. So probably starting towards the end of next week

 

Are you sure this still is true? All of my items were in stock and eligible. The code worked on Wednesday night and it was removed yesterday.

 

it was there tuesday but i havent looked since then, so if its gone its very strange since MD and Elusive still offer the discount and all 3 usually mirror each other

I noticed 10percent disappeared also. I was well over a hundred bucks. All eligible. The message was “discount code does not exist” if memory serves. I’ll try again tonight. I’ll likely place the order either way.

the 10% has never applied to AP releases. The 15% off applies to nearly everything when they run the sale.

 

I’ve used the 10% off code on many AP releases.

Edit: Maybe I’m wrong and that was always the 15% off. I don’t recall how long/often that bigger discount had been in place.

 

Yeah, the sidebar banner for the 10% discount, which has been there as long as I can remember, seems to have gone. And the perma-discounts at Elusive Disc and Music Direct (on vinyl-only, in those cases) have disappeared, too! I was putting together an order at ED, and I noticed the banner was gone, but putting in the code still worked, so I thought I was fine. Today, the code was rejected.

It's a bit curious that the discounts disappeared from all three sites pretty much at once.

It's just competition. If one of them offers a discount, the others will match it. Conversely, if one removes the discount, the others will have less incentive to offer it. The hour that one of them offers a discount again, the others will, too.

 

Might it be to avoid raising shipping? Postage went up again in January.

 

AS told me they'll no longer have that semi-permanent 10% off coupon. Instead, they'll offer flash coupons/discounts via their social media platforms. Supposedly an effort to gain more social media presence/attention.

 

I hope AS still offer periodic 15 percent off in the emails ..

 

I don't mind that, if it means slightly better discounts. It's not like the 10% worked on everything anyways.

 

Id say 90% of the time it didnt apply to anything i wanted

 

I don't do Facebook or Twitter & never will. Along with dumping downloads, it really feels like A.S. doesn't want my business.

 

As long as the sales are announced via their regular emails I’ll be OK
