Prolific character actor Willie Garson died today at age 57.

I loved his performance as Mozzie, the incorrigibly lovable con artist in White Collar. Shortly after watching that series with my daughter, she started pointing out that he's in practically everything! She's always pointing at the TV and saying, "That's Mozzie!" And usually she's right. Often he played quirky, comical characters with a mildly crooked edge. He was a very talented, charismatic actor who will be very much missed.

The news stories say a cause of death was not released, although his Wikipedia page says he died of pancreatic cancer.

Seems he was battling it for a long time, like Norm MacDonald was.

Oh that's sad news. R.I.P. "Stanford Blatch" ~ Willie Garson was a terrific character actor, always bringing a special charm & magnetism to his scenes.

Second person in a little over 4 months who passed away at the same age as myself. Kinda makes you think, doesn't it?

At any rate, rest in peace. Gone at way too young an age.

He was in 9 episodes of the re-booted Hawaii Five-O and he was great. One of the more memorable individual characters in a show full of stereotypes.

Anyone remember an early performance on NYPD Blue? And then he was Stanford on Sex & The City. The guy was very talented.

    RIP

He was very good in Hawaii Five-O. I thought the reboot overall was excellent, too.

Awhile back they said a beloved Sex And The City character would die in the reboot but that it wasn't Samantha (although Cattrall isn't involved), a lot of people were speculating that it would be Big but hearing that Willie had pancreatic cancer and had filmed scenes for the new series, makes me wonder if Stanford is going be that death they were alluding to

I've been watching the X-Files from S01 on through to S11, my first viewing of it since it was on TV in the 90's. I watch a couple episodes per night. On Tuesday night one of them was the S07 episode with Willie Garson - after reading of his death in this thread.

    Spooky.

For those who have Xfinity, there is a free preview of HBO Max where you can watch all episodes of Sex and the City.
