Richard Lynch. He was highly effective at playing various bad guy roles, but was apparently a super nice guy in real life. Passed in 2012.
Excellent choices - I too was going to include "Molly", but you nailed the other two, also (BTW, Missouri Breaks has an excellent score by John Williams, one of my faves) Other performances I thought were great: Werner Herzog - Jack Reacher Rodney Dangerfield - Natural Born Killers Dennis Farina - Midnight Run Orson Welles - Touch of Evil Joe Pesci - Casino
The great mentions on this thread I agree with are Alan Rickman, Cristopher Lee, Chrisoph Waltz, and Gary Oldman. My own mention will be Mads Mikkelsen in Casino Royale (stars in Hannibal too). He has the perfect, brooding demeanor!
Robert Ryan. But near the end, he was a more sympathetic bad guy, like in The Wild Bunch (a bad good guy) and Iceman (the nasty drunken former idealist)
Ronny Cox, who played the evil corporate big wig Dick Jones (Clarence's "boss" at OCP) was equally despicable.
William Smith - a physically imposing guy who played the “heavy” in countless films. I had a brief encounter with him while delivering mail decades ago having him sign for a delivery, he couldn’t have been nicer. Actors who could play BOTH good and bad guys: Andy Griffith Henry Fonda (absolutely chilling in “Once Upon a Time in the West”).
