Most of those are not actual shots from the show; they're promo photos. During the show, he usually only smirked.

And, I apologize for trying to turn him into a Scot, instead of an Irish descendant. His name is McGoohan.

Along the same lines Rod Serling didn't do much smiling on The Twilight Zone.

Jim Varney on Operation Petticoat (the TV series). He played Seaman Broom, an extremely expressionless man (he rarely showed any expression on his face). As far as I know, he smiled exactly one time during the entire run of the show (I think that it was when they were playing Gin and someone challenged him to smile...and he did so when he said "Gin").

This guy, Shemar Moore...his entire range of acting appears to be scowling and frowning:

Can't believe no one mentioned Vince Edwards as Ben Casey.
However, here is a rare smile from Dr. Casey

Kristen Stewart rarely ever smiles. Ditto for Brie Larsen. Some people call it resting b**** face.

He didn’t do much television but wasn’t Marlon Brando one of the first leading actors renowned for rarely, if ever, smiling (when in role)?

The Wild One makes so much of this that when he finally does crack a smile (right at the end), it works as an impolcit signal that the film has ended.

Robert Stack didn’t smile much on “The Untouchables” except one episode where Elizabeth Montgomery coaxes one out of him

Leonard Nimoy smiled in the first pilot “The Cage” when they encounter the “singing plants” on Talos IV. But Spock only had one saving grace: he was ill-mannered

I don't recall Archie Bunker (Carroll O'Connor) smiling very often.

In a book about movie comedians by Leonard Maltin, he said the origin of Keaton's stone face came out when it starting out as a performer. He would laugh when he was tossed around and it caused (IIRC) the audience to not find the antics funny. Developing the stone face solved this issue.

What I've noticed about Keaton is that when he's running it looks like every part of this body is flying all directions...except for his face which rock steady.

I remember a show called “Family” on ABC on the 70s. Kristy McNichol was in it.
I remember the Mom in that show NEVER smiled. She was always frowning or worried. Which is why I never watched it much. (And it was on at 10, that’s when I had to go to bed)
