That’s hard to answer because it’s certainly the case that doors opened for him in his musical career because of his star status, but the guy is seriously good on the banjo. He very well could have made a name as a bluegrass musician without the head start he got with acting.
Keanu was a bass player in a garage band, that happened to get signed. Did him being the band help get them signed, probably but I don't recall any noise from him about being a rock star.
Yes! He's an excellent banjo player and a good songwriter. I love excellent banjo players, I don't care if they are great comedians or actors on the side.
He has composed many of the film scores, for the movies he's directed, so he's not completely without musical talent.
Right, but there are plenty of great musicians who never make it, or get discovered. Although we have no way of knowing, it is unlikely that Steve Martin would have become well known as a musician. His fame/money has allowed him pursue a musical career on the side.
Oh... Yes, it's quite probably he would not have been discovered, but he's good enough that maybe he would have been. But it's not like even if he was that great banjo players are extremely well known to the general public! So yes, I agree with that. I guess I thought "would anyone care?" was meant as if the name is the only thing going for him... Carry on...
I don't know that she thinks she's a rock star, but she is an actor who sings, and pretty darn good too imo.
Rock star don't necessarily mean type of music, there are some actors who never put out a song who think they are rock stars.
I've got a compilation and it's pretty good. Easy listening for sure, but well sung and decent songs. I'm sure I read that he was a regular on the coffee house circuit before he found success as an actor.
I think you mean '63 split window original color blue 'vette'...it was the only year that vettes had split back windows.
