Does he find a black monolith? :D

Except for the fact that a Tommy Lee Jones-age man would have to have been 17 when he fathered a Brad Pitt-age man, this looks interesting. Like Gravity again but with more plot than "disaster movie in space".

Yeah, there are some heavy-duty 2001 pastiches throughout the trailer... :sigh:

Production values look a bit cheap. But I can bypass that as long as it’s a good story.

Eh... maybe he was a little "ahead of his time." I knew people in the 1970s whose fathers were only twice as old as they were, making them about 16-17 when they got married. It happens.

Arnon Milchan wouldn't put his money into some random 'space movie', without it haven't a little 'punch' to it!

Brad doesn’t look like your typical 55 year old man — he could get away with playing someone ten years younger.

    Pitt had to do it.

Let's see..... Damon's done it, Clooney's done it, Affleck's done it, Cruise's done it, McConaughey's done it, etc. Only natural that Pitt gets his own space movie too.

In a movie named Ad Astra...
Where someone has to play Bradd Pitt's dad...
    The BIG question is:
Why Isn't ED ASNER playing the father??

The reviews are pretty good. Nice with a new sci-fi movie.

I really want to see this. I like that they don't give everything away in the trailer.

It depends on the reviewer and whether they can actually tell good scifi from generic tripe. I'm not reading about it more widely than this forum, but at least good is better than bad! :D

One thing I keep seeing the trailer is this huge tall tower that Brad Pitt's character is working on, it's not clear but maybe its a space elevator. That's something I've been wanting to see in a movie forever.

I'm excited for this film. It sounds more interesting than The Martian. Maybe Pitt will finally win his Best Actor Oscar. He has always reminded me so much of Robert Redford.

Yeah, this looks like my kind of movie.

I'll go see it, but my sci-fi tastes are out of step. I thought THE MARTIAN was a stone bore -- it made ekeing out survival on Mars look like a bad Airbnb -- while I thought ANNIHILATION was terrific.
