For those of you who listen to the Beatles (are there many of you around here?), what do you do when one of Ringo's songs starts, and you have the remote at hand?

Regarding the Ringo songs ... was there one on every (UK) album? If not, which UK album had the first song where Ringo sang? Did all the ones after that include a song where Ringo was lead vocalist? Did Ringo write the songs? Did anyone else sing a Ringo-penned song?

    (You can tell I'm bored).

    GOOD RINGO:

    Boys
    I Wanna Be Your Man
    Yellow Submarine
With a Little Help from My Friends
Goodnight (He's even better on the "Anthology III" version)
    Octopus's Garden

    OK RINGO:

    Matchbox
    Honey Don't
    Act Naturally
    What Goes On

    BAD RINGO:

Don't Pass Me By (almost as if he's trying too hard to sing "like Ringo")

    REALLY BAD RINGO:

If You Got Troubles (Why is there any debate about the worst song The Beatles ever recorded? "Mr. Moonlight"? Are you kidding? It's "Good Vibrations" next to this!)

Ringo sings lead on these songs on these albums:

    PLEASE PLEASE ME: Boys

WITH THE BEATLES: I Wanna Be Your Man

    BEATLES FOR SALE: Honey Don't

    HELP!: Act Naturally

RUBBER SOUL: What Goes On, If You Got Troubles (not released but done during these sessions)

    REVOLVER: Yellow Submarine

SGT. PEPPER: With a Little Help from My Friends

WHITE ALBUM: Don't Pass Me By, Goodnight

    ABBEY ROAD: Octopuss's Garden

He also sings "Matchbox" on an EP.

There are no Ringo vocals on these albums: A HARD DAY'S NIGHT, MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR, YELLOW SUBMARINE (except the title track, previously released) and LET IT BE.

Ringo co-wrote "What Goes On" (not much of it, apparently) and gets 1/4 composer credit on the instrumental "Flying." He wrote "Don't Pass Me By" and "Octopuss's Garden." No other Beatle sang lead on a song Ringo wrote.

This is all from memory. If I messed something up, corrections are welcome.

There aren't many Beatles songs that I skip over, even the one's that Ringo sings. Post Beatles, I do really like "It Don't Come Easy."

The only one I truly cannot tolerate is "What Goes On". "Goodnight" I usually skip but won't mind terribly if I have to listen to it. The rest I enjoy.

For the record, I think "Octopus' Garden" is by far his best.

I let the Lp play but in the post Beatles world, I think Paul's drummer has put out solo Cds in the last 10 years or so better than Paul!!!

Love Ringo's drumming, and I could listen to him tell stories all day - rewatched Anthology last week and was struck once again by Ringo's humor and charisma. I must admit though, that I usually skip "Don't Pass Me By" and sometimes "What Goes On".
