Meet The Temptations was a homage to an early Beatles LP.

A possible homage, given that Mr von Schmidt's album was featured on the cover of Mr Dylan's Bringing It All Back Home:

That said, i swear i saw one time another album cover, a country album from earlier, that had the performer posed similarly. Damned if i can find it now.

Also, perhaps tangentially, it's possible that the cover of the Rolling Stones Get Yer Ya Ya's Out

was in part a nod to bob's "Jewels and binoculars hang from the head of the mule". I'll let those more knowledgeable advise.

I picked it up for 20 cents one day just because I'm a Pumpkins fan.
Also I was surprised to come across a Brazilian CD here.

The Jonas Brothers' photo seems to have a bit of Abbey Road in there too.

So humble of them in both cases.

A tribute and a homage at the same time... or a lazy knock-off?

Obviously not an homage - and not really similar, either...

I agree, not a homage... but considering they were just months apart, I'm not so sure about not being a knock-off.
