At first glance, the differences seem only minor but there is this dark shade of a lower body in the back which is not on LZ's first album cover - and that makes the Zeppelin look EXACTLY like a ....well, a cucumber, maybe?
Another Pavement cover. This one is kind of an homage. The Wowee Zowee cover was based on this one by Kanguru: Not an exact homage, obviously, but you can clearly see the influence.
Actually it's more than just indirect influence. If you look at the two thought bubbles (not speech bubbles), they are exactly the same shape. You've got it upside down, though. Guru Guru is the name of the band. Kanguru is the album.
This may be the first time in a long time where I buy the album because I was prompted by the cover art. While the Monkees never did anything for me, Nesmith is a talented songwriter, and hearing some of these titles all in one collection is intriguing.
Not sure if it is a "homage" or outright copying Tyla Gang, "Yachtless" (1977) > "Van Halen Live/Tokyo Dome" (2015)
Just a 2nd album that uses the same piece of art. The VH cover makes no other attempts to duplicate the "Tyla Gang" cover, so this doesn't look like an homage...
