Can I propose remixed ? Before I pass away I'd love to hear Ringo's drums, clearly, during the entirety of "I am the Walrus" & not just in certain parts of the song.

The Stone Roses needs a good quality remaster and more importantly vinyl repressing for next year's 30th anniversary

Yes, I agree with this one, however a new remaster that doesn’t cost quite so much would be nice and the other albums would benefit from it too.

I only have Snow Goose SACD, and to my ears it is different, but not better then my Janus LP pressing.
And AFAIK they only release 3 albums on SHM-SACD.

Lucky you, on discogs and ebay they cost a fortune.

There are two different SHM-SACD masterings of Snow Goose. 2016 SHM-SACD is a new transfer and superior to older SHM-SACD from 2011.

I have US Passport Records vinyl mastered at Sterling and I slightly prefer it over the 2016 SHM-SACD.

Does any album need to be remastered? The albums I know of are mastered well enough to begin with.

Whenever a thread like this comes up, I can only think of one catalog that actually really needs remastering (done right, that is)
    So, here I go again.
    *cough*Genesis original mixes*sniff*

I couldn't agree more! I'm still sad after all those years that their catalogue never had a proper digital release, what a shame.

The Doors sounds like a 60’s recording through and through (although the 40th anniversary mix for the most part fixes that) and not in a good way. The Soft Parade is fine but it lacks serious oomph in most songs (40th remix Tell All the People fixes that). Waiting For the Sun has the same issue on most songs but we’re getting the rough mixes which so far absolutely fix that.

They’re nothing special imo. It’s only near the end where starts thumping away for a bit. I’ve heard the isolated tracks and played it on Rock Band.
Definitely agree about a remix though, although it holds up better than most Beatles albums in that department I think.

Obscure but ide like to see Voivod's RRROOOAAARRR get remixed and mastered a great metal album made unlistenable .

I'm referring to albums that have never been remastered since their first reissue in the 80's, or remastered a few times with little improvement.

I probably will be destroyed on this forum, and it is not a popular opinion - but a lot of old records need new remixing from original multitracks. If done right (big if) it can sound wonderful, albeit not 100% authentic for purists.

Love this album but please give it a decent sound quality next time, the original CD is a nightmare...

This actually needs a remix instead of a remaster IMO.

Only two pages in and some people start to mix up 'remaster' with 'remix'...
