If I had been a gambling man, it was close to a sure bet that every girl I dated in college would have the following albums in her collection:
    Enya - Watermark
    Depeche Mode- Violator
Sinead O’Connor- I Do Not Want......
1 or 2 various Erasure albums
George Michael- Faith (left over from high school days)
Even now, listening to these albums evokes for me the sensation of waiting for someone to finish getting ready so we can go out somewhere.....

If you go back to the 70s, I would guess that Carole King's Tapestry would be pretty high on the list.

(Edit: Looks like Maui Jim just beat me to the punch.)

Your premise assumes that every member here is male, bisexual or a lesbian. Just sayin’.

Late 80's, early 90's Squeeze's Singles 45's and Under was all over the place, most of them record club copies.

In college 1990-94. I think every women's dorm was outfitted with the first Violent Femmes LP, Indigo Girls S/T, and Squeeze Singles 45s and Under.

Must have met the wrong girls because none of them owned a turntable. They did enjoy going through and listening to my albums. They hung out longer, not a bad thing. As I recall the albums of mine they liked were:

    America
    Cat Stevens-Tea for the Tillerman
    The Youngbloods-This is the Youngbloods
    DC5-Greatest Hits
    Grass Roots-Their 16 Greatest Hits
    Van Morrison-Moondance

It was always jarring when they visited. I would go from the Clash, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Elvis Costello or King Crimson to the music listed above.

The '90s girls I knew (and who were into music):

Radiohead - OK computer and/or that one with Creep on it.
Alanis Morisette - Jagged Little Pill
    Nirvana - Nevermind
Eels. That album with the freaky big eyed doll/girl.

The Prodigy was also popular, and all metal chicks liked Type O Negative.

    That's one group af course.

I also knew girls who had Spice Girls, Vengaboys and All Saints.

Things were a little bit more segregated than these days, I think.

Strangely, I never had female friends that liked boysbands like 5ive, Backstreet Boys, etc. Or maybe they just hid those albums when I visited, I don't know.

Hopefully she didn't make you some kind of laughing stock because you danced to disco and you don't like rock

    Ah memories....

    Carole King, Tapestry
Joni Mitchell, Blue, Ladies of the Canyon, etc.
    Crosby, Stills and Nash s/t
Cat Stevens, Tea for the Tillerman, Teaser and Firecat
Leonard Cohen, Songs of Leonard Cohen.
The obligatory Satie and Villa-Lobos record (one of each).

I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting, or have tried to forget over the years...

    Sounds about right...
Also, Toni Child’s - Union was popular, and I’ve never seen anyone with that album since.
Forgot about Indigo Girls s/t , which was mentioned earlier
