“From the beginning” is the only listenable four minutes on “trilogy” for me

Could have been that one, yeah. I do like it :) Should I try the album again? It must be 30 years since I played it!

It is by far the most "difficult" album Warrior Soul ever made, and it's not that easy to get into. Rumour has it that frontman Kory Clarke by purpose created it that way so they would be released from their contract to Geffen, which he hated. It's definately a good alum in my book, but if were to list all Warrior Soul albums (not last couple of years included) it would finish last.

Sir, if that's the worst thing you've read in a music forum, you must have your browser security options set to "Amish". :shtiphat:

I should have used the #hyperbole tag. Just a big Rush fan and couldn't fathom someone not liking Moving Pictures :)

Edit: Also, that album has been out for 38 years and I never heard anyone say they disliked it before. Ok, I'm sounding crazy and defensive now, signing off....

I have that album autographed by member Mark Riviera (Billy Joels sax player) from a few years ago before a concert of Ringo's All Starr band.
He flipped when he saw it, then ran and showed Sheila E. :D

Stills-Young Band - Long May You Run, for the title track. Fortunately it also appears on Decade.

I get you. I was after a complete album with tracks like "Time Has Come Today" also...but after I got over the disappointment that the rest of the LP was completely different, I grew to love it all.

Five O'clock World is such an iconic and great tune I was hoping for more of the same quality and impact. Big disappointment....bad bad album.

No More Straights by The Neutrons got played on the Old Grey Whistle Test, and I loved it. Went out and bought the LP, but was hugely disappointed with the rest of the album. Still am, but as No More Straights is the opening song, and so I don't have to listen to anything else, I've kept the LP.

Running on Empty - Jackson Browne. I’m sorry but I just cannot get into anything besides the title track.

Judy Collins - Wildflowers. Both Sides Now is a great 60s folk pop song, but The rest of the album does nothing for me

Norman Greenbaum - Spirit In The Sky, title track is the only thing worth listening to

War - Why Can’t We Be Friends. Just not my style but Low Rider is so catchy and it’s one of those I have because I found a NM copy for extremely cheap and couldn’t say no

Hey, Astro70. Interesting....an all time favorite album, start to finish.

I love how we all love what we love, or dislike...what we hear, musically speaking...the ear of the beholder n' all.
That's what makes the world go round. Different strokes for different folks.

Judy's Wildflower LP, for me especially - can't go wrong with her beautiful and artistic interpretations all her own:
a few Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen songs, and a Jaques Brel tune, then a couple nice tunes of her own.

You couldn't have picked a more important LP in my collection to force my hand into a loyal defense, or good excuse to sing her praises. Normally I read these posts mostly in silent agreement or fascination...not today.

Now of course, I need to pull the vinyl and have an appreciative listen.

    :edthumbs:

    Cheers

I bought the album simply to get How Can The Labouring Man Find Time For Self-Culture? Never really liked the rest of it including Reach. I always thought the video for HCTLMFTFSC? was a better video than Reach as well.

As well as Mark and Bob 2 from Devo, Alan Myers played drums on HCTLMFTFSC?

As outlined in the opening credits, James Cameron directed the video for Reach - yes, THAT James Cameron.

    I no lie!

Actually, you prompted me to double check, there is another song that I like on the Roy Ayers album so I'll strike that off, but there is definitely only one song I like on his "Lifeline" album (Running Away) so I'll add that.
