I once listened to 2 Eels records, the worst paranoid garbage i have ever heard, never again.
and Pink Floyd - The Wall - in my opinion the worst collapse in taste between albums in rock history.

Sheryl Crow's Tuesday Night Music Club. When I bought it back in 1994, I just did not like it. I did play it a few times and never enjoyed it. Then in the Fall of 1996 I was in a Best Buy in Reston VA and they were playing her then new self-titled album. I liked everything I heard while in the store and bought it, and have consistently enjoyed it ever since. Tried again with Tuesday Night, and probably will never give it a full play again.

It’s difficult to process in its entirety, but I can skip around and get immense pleasure from at least 7 or so of the tracks.

I can completely understand this, Zappa really isn't for everyone. But I have to ask, did you try "Hot Rats"? :hide:

The first Audioslave album. Listened to it on the way home, again that night. And took it back the next day. It just wasn't the mix of Rage and Soundgarden I was looking for.

I have problems with this album too. Bought it upon release, adore the opening Christine McVie track, Over and Over, but then it just falls flat for me, with the overindulgent title track complete with marching band, etc. I gave it another shot a year or two ago because of all the people who love it. But nothing has changed for me. It’s still the same bloated ho-hum album it was ~45 years ago.

No idea how popular "pretentious", is as an adjective right now, even if my corpora studies days are not quite behind me.
Does 'Arty Farty' do a better job of describing an an album whose content never was, and never will be relevant to me personally?
As someone who enjoys a lot of Cave's albums, I think Carnage is all overstatement, short on ideas, substance and songs.
Then again, you might think it is the best thing since sliced bread and if you do then you will be pleased to know, I too am ready to respect your opinion.
Wonderful thing, this mutual respect thing we got going. Lots of great memories of going to Cave's gigs, and met my wife at one of them, but Carnage is to my mind, anything but memorable.

How's it a 'hate thread' then, laughing boy? It's about specific rubbish albums people might have given more of a chance than they actually deserved.

The antonym of love, like or appreciate isn't necessarily hate. But carry on with your personal vendetta, I'm quite honoured by your attention tbh :edthumbs:

I like Rope better, but I probably favor their first LP and early singles when they were still a 'punk' band.

A lot of "ouches" in this thread. Band on the Run? White Album? Axis Bold as Love? 461 Ocean Blvd?

We certainly have our differences and my views on those differ.

Great 60s 'garage rock' for the most part. Many don't appreciate the genre, but it's as important to North American music history as any other style short of jazz or country.

Not a Metallica fan of any kind but I've seen 'Some Kind of Monster ' a few times.
    Great documentary.
