Just heard some of it on the radio. Flaccid mush. Good consistency for all the toothless fans sucking it down. 90s nostalgia is even more embarrassing than 70s nostalgia. Like an unrecognizable faded tattoo on wrinkled, mottled skin.

Pitchfork does like dancing boy bands with little hats and girls that whisper sing. So they have a place.

Hey, Jann Wenner gave it a five-star review in Rolling Stone!
Five stars! That's a lot! It must be good to warrant that!

I'm having a hard time coming up with one only because if I don't like it I just move it on. I guess Relayer perhaps. It was underwhelming after the other records. Either that or I was losing a little interest with Yes. All of my records were stolen in 1979 and I don't think I replaced any of the Yes stuff.

I'm pretty sure most of the forum would enjoy the doc Bros: When The Screaming Stops despite not having heard of the band.

Agree, sounds like it was recorded in the 60's. Was that deliberate?

Van Morrison's Astral Weeks. A lot of people tried to convince me it was better than Pet Sounds. Well it's not. And then I tried to listen to it on its own merits. Not better.

Neil Young - Barn; I'm not one of those who thinks latter-day Neil can do no right (I thought Peace Trail was excellent), but none of these songs stuck for me at all despite repeated listens.

Joni - Heijra and Hissing of Summer Lawns. I’ve tried and tried!

Oh wow - both were love at first listen for me, and I'm still smitten with them after all these years. Shine on the other hand I tried to like but failed.

See, to me those are her best albums, hands down, especially Hissing.

Blue is nice and all, but I like when she stretched out her sound a little more, took more chances.

I dearly love his folk era but I'd be tempted to go with everything I've heard post-Infidels (essentially all the albums up to and including Love & Theft, and also the recent one). There are a few songs across those records that chime with me but not an awful lot.

Not that it matters, of course. If others enjoy them then they are valid and relevant.

I bought it on release after reading all of the hype and was left wondering where it all came from. I sold the CD later that afternoon. I gave it another chance recently and realized I was right the first time.

Paul McCartney's solo output. He just isn't for me. The solo songs are silly for the most part and I have tried several albums.

Neil hasn't made a great album since Greendale. Just the occasional great song.

Television, "Marquee Moon", great opening number then long and monotonous. One of the most overrated albums ever, and I've given it several tries.

About McCartney, his singles are just fine, as in "All the Best", but I haven't heard a whole album from him worth anything. He just can't sustain an entire album in my opinion

Listened to it for the first time recently and had a similar reaction. I'll plug away for a while though, on the off-chance it clicks.
