Alex Trebek RIP

The only one left now from J!'s long, illustrious history (at least the only production person left) is Johnny Gilbert, and it'll for sure be national news when he passes on (speaking of which, I wonder what Johnny Gilbert thought when [if] he heard of Alex's passing at 80).

 

You will be missed, Mr. Trebek.

Very Sad news he will be missed.

 

I remember watching Alex on his first US game show, The Wizard of Odds. I watched Jeopardy every afternoon (in recent years thinking each episode might be the last) and I am saddened by this news. RIP Mr. Trebek.

 

I have an elderly neighbor who had pancreatic cancer a few years ago. Not sure what stage it got to. But she is alive and well. And over 80. RIP Alex.

I remember those shows too. Luckily, there's a lot of his episodes around - there's quite a few High Rollers out there, but unfortunately nothing's ever turned up for Wizard of Odds. I'd love to see that one again.

I saw Battlestars tape at NBC Burbank when my family vacationed in California in April 1983. Amazing set to see in person. I'm glad I got to see a couple of his shows live.

This one is going to hurt for all Canadians for quite some time. RIP Mr. Trebek. On a side note, anyone find it strange that everyone's favorite Celebrity Jeopardy duo has passed away within a week of each other?

In fairness, I think Norm Macdonald's Turd Ferguson--er, Burt Reynolds, was even funnier in the early sketches.
