Nurse Rozetta is definitely one of the highlights of the album. Great rocker, cool story! Love the quiet breakdown in the middle, nice contrast to the rest of the song!! Glad to see him doing it live lately!

Definitely the most lively and entertaining song on the album that provides a nice contrast to the very serious previous track, The Quiet Room. The production probably dates it more than any other track on the album, not that I have a problem with that.

The, "Nurse Rozetta I won't let her," section is as raunchy as Alice gets and because of this it surprised me to hear it on his most recent tour. I mean he won't play Trash or Spark in the Dark live (not that I have a problem with that as I'm not a huge fan of those songs) because they conflict with his religious beliefs, yet he'll play this.

Here's a thought. The running sequence of the album seems to constantly contrast serious, autobiographical tracks (usually ballads) with more lighthearted, rocking tracks.

Up and down just like the rehab experience (not from personal experience) I would imagine.

Great pick up. All these years, I never thought of the track flow like that. :righton:

Off topic (sort of)... my 48/16 needledrop seems limp sonically, as the LP always has been, any thoughts on some EQ settings in Goldwave to perk 'er up ?

I faintly hear that bottom end somewhere down there.

I figured it out... TURN IT UP !

    'Millie And Billie'.

Brilliant duet. All the tenderness and anger of insanity.

"And I liked your late husband Donald
But such torture his memory brings
All sliced up and sealed tight in baggies
Guess love makes you do funny things." ... says it all.

I really think that some of you folks pay too much attention to the lyrics on this album and forget about the music. From the Inside is a great collection of classic Alice Cooper vocals and melodies and the last record of his (for many, many years) to feature the classic vintage Alice Cooper style.

What is the classic vintage style? It certainly sounds miles away from Cooper/Bruce/Dunaway/Buxton/Smith. After the tour to support it these songs with maybe the odd exception were never played again.

Lmao, really?? He's played Beverly Hills, From The Inside & Nurse Rozetta in recent tours. That's more than any other Alice album outside of B$B, Love It To Death, Killer & Welcome To My Nightmare. Good call though lol

To me the classic Alice style is NOT the raw early sound but the mid 70's sound of Welcome to my Nightmare and Goes to Hell.

Not at all. Welcome to my nightmare is by far his most popular record here.

That's not an odd exception. Name an album that's he done more songs off over the past 20 years of touring than From The Inside. (Aside from B$B, Love It To Death, Killer & Nightmare)

    MILLIE AND BILLIE (4:15)
Billie I wonder why are we insane
    Will we ever get better
    Will we stay the same
    Billie I'm worried

    Millie don't worry
    No one knows our pain
Being in love is crazy not alone that way
    I know you're worried today

God made love crazy so he wouldn't feel alone
He was thinking of us he was thinking of us
God made love crazy so he wouldn't feel so alone

Billie my mind seems to wander
To events of a night long ago
Driving alone with our guilt well concealed
In the trunk of your '68 Olds

    Millie our world's an asylum
And our minds like you say ain't that straight
But you know and I know our passion's
Not deformed it's true to say
    We'll love our lifetime

God made love crazy so he wouldn't feel alone
He was thinking of us he was thinking of us
God made love crazy so he wouldn't feel so alone

Billie I dream of our children
They're frightening and gruesome and sad
And I don't want them growing inside me
They're no price for the love that we have

Oh Millie oh Billie criminally insane
    Oh Millie oh Billie

Oh Billie it's fresh in my memory
The night that it had to be done
You with your pick axe and scissors
And you with your shovel and gun

And I liked your late husband Donald
But such torture his memory brings
All sliced up and sealed tight in baggies
Guess love makes you do funny things

Oh Millie oh Billie criminally insane
    Oh Millie oh Billie

"Millie and Billie" is a lovely ballad with gruesome lyrics, especially the "late husband Donald" bit. I know it's intentional, but by today's standards it might be considered a politically incorrect or even a bad taste song (sorry). I still love this album, but from my current perspective, it does have some questionable spots and this is one of them. The other one might be the last track, "The Inmates (We're All Crazy)". Insanity is no joke. Alice should have remained within the boundaries of his own plight. Makin fun of other people's mental ilnesses is not something I can accept today.

It's not more than School's Out. Obviously the title track is always played, but I've heard live versions of My Stars and Gutter Cats as well.

The classic, vintage Alice cooper style is with his original band. The one that is joining Alice on the entry in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Not the feeble crap that came after that.

I am not talkin about other albums. I believe it was over 20 yrs since two of these songs were played. Rozetta is probablt close to 30 yrs.

For the most part this is true. It would be hard to argue against it,

For the record I think WTMN is on par with the bands stuff. I am also a big fan of SF/FTF and Da Da. The Metal stuff after that lost me. Brutal Planet was great and I like TEOAC.
