Aenima came out when I was like a Sophomore in High School or so, and that album was a watershed moment. The group of friends I ran around with must have spun that CD hundreds of times. Was the soundtrack to a lot of our teenage misbehavior for years. I thought Aenima would be their peak on album, but they somehow upped the ante with Lateralus. For me, I think Undertow will always be my favorite of the band's albums, and I really wish they would go back to a few short, punchy, in your face songs like those instead of everything being a 10+ epic. But it's all great to good.
Meh, they should delay it to 2020. That's a much better sounding number for an album this highly anticipated.
Just says August 30, no mention of a year. I will get excited when the new Tool album preorder bundle with the Star Wars Original Theatrical Trilogy 4K UHD box set goes up. Hopefully there will be a limited edition bundle where the first 5000 orders get a free 45 of The Beatles Carnival Of Light.
Tool on Instagram: “Tool play tonight at the @kfcyumcenter ! Please remember... NO PHOTOS OR VIDEOS! . . #tool #music #tooltheband” I'm beginning to think that those videos were allowed to be shown. Akin to giving a bottle to a whiny baby. Tool has always had a no camera or videos policy at their shows. It's a strategy. Now we get the PREORDERS!
Chinese Democracy is the only other one I can think of. Hell, the last GNR album to come out before that was a covers album and I was still a month a way from being born lol
Edit Never mind. Just saw on reddit that what I wrote wasn't the case, according to someone who was apparently there.
Maynard apparently allowed cameras for Stinkfist last night which was the closer. If you search last night’s show on YouTube you’ll get a dozen + videos of just that. Really hoping we get some more info for the release soon.
Yep, that's what I had read after the initial incorrect reports. He came out after the date reveal and said "Heard any good news lately?"
Maynard/A Perfect Circle started allowing fans to shoot 1 song near the end of the show. They got lots of bad press for their no camera policy. AFAIK, they've never been known to yank stuff from youtube. it's just shows where they are strict. At festivals their photo rules are ignored.
I kind of wonder if how this new album is handled might be a precursor for any potential reissues of the back catalog.
Good luck with that - I really hope so too, but if Eat The Elephant is an indication.... I still can’t listen to that (on CD).
Here's audio from the band's set in Alabama last Tuesday. Maynard's voice is sounding older but strong.
