It really is ugly. Horrible. Stupid.
I didn't know who it was either.
It also gives no clue as to what type of music it is.
For someone who is known to be "creative", it's not very creative.

I really like her second album, but almost everything since then has just been weird.

The best word I can use to describe it is "tacky". The worst word? Just look at the cover. It's right there in your face.

From the 1974 tour? Probably not - Bowie's arguably the coolest-looking rock star ever, but 1974 was NOT a high point! :D

I always hated the cardboard box cover of Alice Cooper’s Muscle of Love. It’s ugly and as far as I’m concerned doesn’t even count as a proper cover, it’s so bad. It’s like they didn’t even try.

Came to say basically this but am quoting to add that (my memory of) St Vincent worked pretty hard to avoid capitalizing on her physical merits and to let her music speak for itself. I like the change (if that is what it is) and also everything that Terrapin Station said.

I agree. The whole thing is very amateur. Worse than David Live.

Yes, let's force fit the text in the available areas. It's OK if these black letters have a black background, and no need
to center the red text in it's area or even enlarge it. Let's throw a star and a circle in there too 'cause I can't think of anything else to do.

I see the reference to “penitents” on the cover, which leads me to think this has nothing to do with the KKK and everything to do with a reference to Catholic Spain’s red-hooded penitential guilds, which predate the KKK by centuries.
